“Whenever you are, we’re already then.”
The Echo Park Time Travel Mart is the world’s leader in convenience retailing for time travelers, with branches in every major time period from the Big Bang to the Omega Point. I co-founded the EPTTM, developing the initial concept for the store and formulating the store’s look and brand. I was joined by my immensely talented co-founder Mac Barnett and our genius designer Stefan Bucher.
Since its opening in January, 2007, the EPTTM has been featured in the LA Times, Gizmodo, Boing Boing, Travel + Leisure, Good Magazine, io9, Laughing Squid, the Not For Tourist Guides, and many other publications. Products from the EPTTM were selected for the 2010 California Design Biennial, presented at the Pasadena Museum of Art.
All proceeds from the EPTTM directly fund 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. 826 National links eight such centers across the country and was founded by author Dave Eggers.
You can visit the EPTTM online, or at its brick and mortar locations in Los Angeles at 1714 Sunset Blvd. and in Mar Vista at 12515 Venice Blvd.
Eggers explains the EPTTM and its sister stores in this wonderful TED Talk (Time-Freezy Hyper Slush shout out at 21:02):
