“Whenever you are, we’re already then.”
Co-Creator/Night Manager, Opened 2007
The Echo Park Time Travel Mart is the world’s leader in convenience retailing for time travelers, with branches in every major time period from the Big Bang to the Omega Point. We sell everything you need for a road trip through the fourth dimension: robot emotions, chain mail, and snacks, snacks, snacks! You can visit the EPTTM online, or at its brick and mortar location at 1714 Sunset Blvd.

The EPTTM was designed to raise money, inspire creativity, and advertise 826 LA’s programs to the community. All procedes from the store directly fund 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Programs include after-school tutoring, writing workshops, and help for English learners. 826 National links eight centers across the country and was founded by author Dave Eggers and educator Nínive Calegari.
You can see all nine EPPTM posters here.
Since its opening in January, 2007, the EPTTM has been featured in the LA Times, Gizmodo, Boing Boing, Travel + Leisure, Good Magazine, io9, Laughing Squid, the Not For Tourist Guides, and many other publications. Products from the EPTTM were selected for the 2010 California Design Biennial, presented at the Pasadena Museum of Art.
Eggers explains the EPTTM and its sister stores in this wonderful TED Talk (Time-Freezy Hyper Slush shout out at 21:02):
